Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Old Justgiving page http://www.justgiving.com/steve-waterhouse40-1 Please do not donate on my old site

I have brought the donations from my old site and posted as raised offline on this site.

In September 2008, Mavis, my wife Caroline's Grandma became seriously ill and was quickly diagnosed with Cancer. Mavis had a large family with 9 children and lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mavis was the centre of the family and we were all devastated. After a brief stay in the local hospital we were relieved to have her transferred to The Trinity Hospice in Bispham, Blackpool. The care she received there was amazing and the sense of peace and understanding we received from all of the staff is difficult to express in words. Mavis died in their care peacefully on the 18th November 2008. We went back to the Light up a life Christmas Service in December and were amazed at the number of people who had returned to remember their loved ones and say thank-you to the Hospice, running the London Marathon is my way of thanking them.

I have lost my Grandma Winnie, Grandad Jack and Uncle Mike to Cancer but thankfully my brother Phil and my sister Sarah have fought Cancer and survived. After such personnel experiences I will always fundraise for charities that can either care for the patient and family or charities that pledge to offer a future without cancer.

Trinity Hospice is located on the Fylde coast and is a specialist palliative care service.

http://www.trinityhospice.co.uk/index.html

They offer care service for adults and children who have progressive life-limiting illnesses who have developed complex needs because of their illness.

Trinity strives to provide care that is patient centred, in a comfortable, clean environment delivered with compassion.

As i was so touched by what i had experienced within the hospice i decided that i would like to raise funds for what i believe is an extremely crucial service to us all.

So please, please dig deep and donate now.

Please keep with me on my journey http://stevewlvm2010.blogspot.com/

Thank you.
