Story
Thanks for visiting this page.
I'm Sharon - Steve's wife and I'm writing this page for him as it’s too painful for him to do himself at the moment.
This is such an important charity to us as cancer has affected us deeply in recent years.
Our daughter was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 25. This was devastating news for us all, as she was a newly married young mum and should have been enjoying her wonderful life.
Thankfully a year later after some tough treatment she received the all clear, and has just passed a year of being cancer free, and is enjoying life again with her husband daughter and new baby.
Earlier this year, Steve's sister Gill received a cancer diagnosis after having beaten breast cancer 10 years before.
Steve decided at this point to raise funds for Cancer Research by running the Brighton Marathon.
Our daughter hopes to be there to see Steve cross the line (baby logistics etc allowing),
Sadly Gill won't be there.
Despite her courage and strength, she lost the battle and we said goodbye to her in November. She leaves behind lots of devastated family and friends.
Please help Steve to raise funds for this pivotal charity to enable more people to celebrate the joys we have had with our daughter's triumph over the disease, and to reduce the number of people who have to suffer the pain and loss of much loved relatives and friends, as we have with the loss of Gill.
Thank you
x
