Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Welcome to Steve's Red Rose Ramble fundraising page. The event is raising money for various charities, I have chosen to support East Cheshire Hospice.
East Cheshire Hospice needs your help if it is to continue providing a service for local people. It needs £5,500 every single day just to keep going.
The Hospice covers parts of the Peak District and North Derbyshire as well as East Cheshire.
The Hospice provides special care to help people at differing stages of their illness. It helps them and their families and carers to live life to the full.
The Red Rose Ramble 2009 is an informal charity challenge walk starting in Warrington which, though it is now part of Cheshire, represents the traditional crossing point in to the county of Lancashire from the south. I will visit Wigan and the new county town of Preston before finishing at the gates of Lancaster Castle itself. The route is approximately 100 kilometres in length (that is just about 62 miles in old money) and in order to be successful I will need to cover the distance in just 24 hours.
That's right, 100km in 24 hours! got to be worth a few quid of anyones money.
The walk starts at 4pm on Saturday 4th July and I have to cross the finish line by 4pm on Sunday 5th July. This means that more than seven hours of the walk will take place in darkness and that I won't be getting any sleep, I will however try and eat occasionally!
Latest News....All donors will be entered into a draw to WIN a signed Sale Sharks shirt (thanks Swanny)
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: East Cheshire Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! you never know, someone very close to you may need to use this hospice.
