We deliver free, quality care and support to over 2,500 patients & families each year
Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, and even more thanks if you donate some money!
A quick update on 14 July: we did climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours. I think our official time was 23:17, so we even had a bit to spare at the end. Thanks ever so much to everyone who contributed, everyone who sent messages of encouragement, and of course to the LOROS team for their support throughout the trip, and especially the two volunteer guides Seth and Rich who came with us on the mountains. There is a more detailed report on the walks here.
What did I do this for? I want to help provide good quality care and support for people dying from cancer. Because I lost my lovely wife Wendy Cronin to cancer last October. She got excellent care in her last months, and this allowed us both to make the very best of the time we had together. You can imagine how much that means to me now, and I want others to have the same opportunity.
You'll see my total pledges are now well over twice the £750 minimum set by LOROS (and that doesn't include sponsorship raised by the other 4 walkers). Thanks so much to everyone who has helped! But it doesn't have to stop there. My lad Tim (aged 39½) is coming on the walk too, and you can still help him with a donation to the same cause. Let's keep going and see how much we can get together!
Donating through this site is quick, easy and secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving also claims 25% in Gift Aid on your behalf, and a 3% supplement is also added to your donation.
LOROS Hospice is a local charity delivering free care and support to over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland each year.
Our free high-quality, compassionate services are tailored to be special and unique to each terminally ill patient, their family and carers.
