As many of you know last April we lost my Dad to cancer. He spent his last few days in the East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield, where the care and dignity they gave him made an enormous difference to us all.
In a moment of madness/stupidity/courage my brother Doug and I both decided to run marathons this year. Doug is running in Paris at the beginning of April for Macmillan Cancer and I am running in London on April 26 for Help the Hospices. No doubt both days will be emotional but also a special way to remember Dad.
The 16 week training programme is well underway (about 50 runs and about 300 miles in total before the race itself) and going well considering it is usually dark, icy and wet!
In addition to your generosity we're also planning a special Rattle & Roll class (Nicky's baby music classes) at Easter, a coffee morning at Amie's ballet class and probably hanging around West Bridgford with a collecting tin at various points.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. (It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me; Help the Hospices gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation).
Any contribution is much appreciated. Many thanks,
Steve
