Here are the details as described before I completed the event:

I paid for the entry to the marathon, so this isn't one of those pages chugging you for money to reach an arbitrary target.  I'm running the Berlin Marathon whether you donate a penny to charity or not.  However, as some seem to get a kick out of seeing their names in print on a web page publicly advertising their philanthropy, I thought I'd set up this page to give people a chance to beam amongst strangers.

Things I've learned training for my first marathon:

1. Running long distances can get really boring after 9 miles.

2. There are very few public toilets on the streets of London.

3. Robyn's "Handle Me" is a sh*t song and I torture myself forgetting to delete it from my running playlist.

4. It's amazing how many times you can have the exact same conversation about one race, I now understand why sportsmen appear to be so boring.

5. Without Vaseline, your nipples, armpits and inner thighs are objects of disproportionate pain after a long run.

6. Too much Vaseline can stain your running vest, leaving you look like you're lactating even after it's washed.

7. Spending three months sober makes you a lot more productive, but it's a lot less fun.

8. Dieticians can shove it up their a*se, if I'm training 6 days a week sober, then I'm living on pizza and pies.
