We build schools and train health workers to improve lives in a remote area of Burma

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I will be taking part in Ironman France Competition on 28th June 2009 where I will swim for 3.8km, bike for 180km and run for 42.2km... no resting allowed in between! Please visit www.ironmanfrance.com for further information.

Please also visit www.helpingtheburmesedelta.org for more information on the charity I am racing for. Cyclone Nargis made landfall in the Irrawaddy Delta of Burma (Myanmar), causing catastrophic devastation, with an official death toll of 138000, and widespread destruction of homes, rice-paddy fields, household possessions, and water supplies.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Helping The Burmese Delta gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now! Every penny received will go directly to those in much need of restoring their lives in the Burmese Delta.

About the charity

We improve the lives of children in the Irrawaddy delta, one of the remotest and poorest parts of Burma. Our focus is on education and health - we have built 27 primary schools, plus a high school. We also train villagers to be Community Health Workers. We give these people a chance of a future!
