Well, I did it! Strange event. First, 12,000 people, 1000 of them men, mostly wearing decorated bras and other fancy dress, assemble in a pink tent on the meadows. they had bands (which were really good) and some personalities speaking from the stage, and free massages and ready meals.
It was amazing how we just got carried along for the first few miles, charging round Arthur's Seat full steam ahead. By the time we got to Cramond it had slowed a little, though still walking pretty much part of a crowd.
There were hundreds of cheery stewards and various forms of musical entertainment on the way round.
Pleased to say no blisters but discovered an array of leg muscles, which ibuprofen is trying to help me forget now.
Anyway, thanks for your donations!
