Story
OK: I did it again! Yes I very did! Saturday 9th May - success! My great friend Stevie from primary school days and who is also Laura's Godmother, valiantly joined me. We had a ball. I found the walk so much easier than last year. It was glorious in every way. We walked most of the way with Sue and her Mum Margaret as planned. We didnt rush it, enjoying, views, giggles, food, photos, rest stops and lots and lots of talking. Walked in with loads of energy left at: 11.20 pm a total time of: 15 hrs 10 mins. Happy.
Please donate, Muscular Dystrophy Campaign badly needs all the help possible with cures so nearly being reached now. Thanks for all your support. Katie xx
Just Walk is a massive 40mile walk in just one day! It is possible, I know, I did it in 2008.
To find out more (or join in) see: www.just-walk.co.uk
So, for 2009, I want to beat two records:
Beat 2008s walking time of 14hrs 35mins - and
Beat 2008s fundraising of £2,600
I want to give a special thanks to Sue. I met Sue on Just Walk as her Mum had to drop out. We walked most of the 40 miles together and just got faster and faster. A new friend and great walking partner - heres to 2009, Sue.
So, I am arranging more events, bridge drives, walks, talks, lunches - come along or if you cant make it - just bung a few quid on here for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
I shall never stop fundraising through Walking For Laura. It is essential to raise funds for the research into muscle diseases and for the care and future of sufferers, like Laura, who receive no real back-up from NHS.
I'll add to this over the months, but a big thanks to all who have made this already healthy total possible.
My love to you all - Katie
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Muscular Dystrophy Campaign gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
