Hello everyone and welcome to my page! On the 13th April I completed the full 26.4 miles of this year's Rotterdam marathon in aid of the Scottish Society for Autism. It was, quite simply the hardest thing I have ever known. I have just about recovered now, although having endured the trauma of nearly 4 hours of solid running and the resultant pain I definitely feel I have put in a huge effort! The whole thing is about raising money though and this is where your efforts can really help. As many of you will be aware my cousin Rachel benefits enormously from the services which the Scottish Society for Autism provide. In sponsoring me for the marathon you will be helping her and others like her, and easing my knackered knees in the knowledge that it was all worthwhile! You can check out photos and even video footage of me completing the race in my special high visibility yellow outfit (with STUART emblazoned across the front) by going to www.fortismarathonrotterdam.nl and entering my name in the results 2008 option. There are videos of me at each 5km point looking progressively more jaded and crossing the finish line too. The relief and anguish as I pull the sweatband over my head at the end should inspire you to donate generously!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me; the Scottish Society for Autism will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please ladies and gents, open your wallets, empty your pockets, crack out your credit cards and sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Stuart x
