Story
Hi Everyone and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Well it's less than a week now until the big off! Thursday March 5th will see all 67 of us meeting at Heathrow for the kick off of this fantastic challenge. Inevetibly there are some people who have had to drop out for various reasons, but they will be able to take part in a later event so all is not lost, but it must be incredibly frustrating for them. My training programme has gone well and we reckon that we have cycled over 1600 miles since my first ride in June last year. A huge thankyou to the lovely Dave who has become my mentor and encouraged me every step of the way. You're a star darling! Dave is doing London to Paris in July so there will be no let up when I get back as he continues his training! As well as being a great personal challenge I know that this is a truly worth while charity to support.
I was lucky enough to have my 3 children ‘like shelling peas’ but we don’t always appreciate the traumatic times that other families experience. I count myself very blessed to have a beautiful new grandson and a delicious grandaughter who at just 3 years old really is life on a spring.
Professor Robert Winston is an inspirational man who will surely go down in history as one of the all time medical ‘greats’ of our generation. He even finds time to accompany us on a least part of our ride. All the money we raise goes directly to the Trust to fund early research in to a variety of problems that receive no government funding in their early stages. More info from: www.women-for-women.org
