C2C 'in-a-day' challenge.

Jake Webster and Mike Babbitt of the Sustrans Leeds office are soon to be officially certified as lunatics.  On 28 May, they are proposing to ride the C2C route from Whitehaven to Sunderland in less than 24 hours.  That’s 136 miles over lots of hills!  Will they make it?  They don’t know as they’ve never done anything like this before but one thing’s for sure.  It’s going to hurt!

Here are each of their Top Trump cards (all scores out of 10):

They would like to raise a bit of money to go towards funding some bespoke bridge plaques in memory of Phil Jackson who tragically passed away last year.  Phil was a highly valued member of the Yorkshire construction team and he played a huge role over a decade in the building and maintenance of various sections of the NCN.  These plaques will be erected in his memory on two of the routes that Phil helped to build.
