Story
So after the utter madness of taking on the London Triathlon last year and swearing I would never do it again ....... guess what, thanks to some very clever marketing by the organisers, I am once again putting myself through the torture of it!
So on Saturday 1st August I will be doing the "Sprint" distance (there still won't be any sprinting going on!) which is 750m swim in the London docks, 20km bike ride and finishing with a delightful 5km run (I still believe Satan chose to put the run at the end)! I am aiming to improve on last years time and do it in under 1hr 45mins (fingers crossed for better weather ).
Since last year Southampton Hospital Charity has launced The Red & White Appeal and I have decided to use this years triathlon to raise a few pennies for this appeal.
This £2.2 million appeal aims to create a transplant centre of choice for patients with leukaemia and other blood disorders from across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, the Isle of Wight and Channel Islands. It is a really worth while cause so please be a geneous as you can.
For more details on the charity and the appeal, have a look at the website: www.southamptonhospitalcharity.org
Thank you for your support, it really is greatly appreciated.
