Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am about to take on, what is for me, quite a challenge. I love to be out on my bike but, 178 miles in three days, well, you can do the sums.

It's a great charity to support, not just for work going on now but for the impact sustainable transport will make to the future of our children and grandchildren.

Please give as you are able. I know many of you have recently generously supported me in another fund-raising venture (thank you for that ) so if you aren't able to contribute this time please have a little look at the great work Sustrans do.

Coast & Castles Challenge Ride 25 to 27 September 2009

The 200 mile Coast & Castles South cycle route (National Route 1) links the Forth and Tyne estuaries, taking in some of Britain's best built and natural heritage, including Hadrian's Wall World Heritage site, unspoiled coastline and the beautiful Tweed Valley before arriving in Edinburgh.

Sustrans, in conjunction with Riot Events, has organised a three day sponsored ride from Gateshead to Edinburgh which takes in part of the Coast & Castles South to Berwick-upon-Tweed before breaking off onto National Route 76 which follows the coastline. It is a unique opportunity for participants to challenge themselves, whilst raising money for the charity behind the National Cycle Network.
