16/08 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all who helped yesterday's coffee morning & afternoon tea raise a MASSIVE £534!
40 of you came to coffee morning, I realise it was a bit of a squash, especially when the rain poured & the gazebo didn't provide much shelter, but you all got your purses out & spent well. The sun came out & shone throughout the afternoon tea for 19. Think I should have had a wine bar going then!
You have all been so generous with your spending, donations, prize draw donations & home baking...went down very well.
Of course I did not do it alone. Special thanks to Colin who kept the teas & coffees going, Susan who slaved over the hot stove making pancakes to order all morning, Linda who was my right hand woman, Laura who kept the children entertained with lucky dips & pocket money stall & sold raffle tickets & to Cathie who stepped in to the breach when & where required.
23/08 Great night last night with Amir making 15 of us lovely exotic cocktails. he was a hit & so was the idea of a cocktail evening. The expenditure for it was a bit higher but worth every penny. Great fun with snatch raffle & traditional raffle. Profit for the evening a nice £193.
Cash donations still coming my way from generous folks & the gifts handed in for raffles has been fantatstic. Thank you all so much.
£530 paid into UCAN bank account on 19/08. A further £300 being paid in this week - £193 cocktail evening & £107 cash donations. Almost at target. BBQ on 29th should round it up. Thank you all so much.
All done & dusted now. Great day on 29th for BBQ & raised £223.30, collecting cans held £131.45.
Total raised for UCAN through events & donations is MASSIVE £1,208.75. Thank you all so much for all your efforts, donations & support.

The UCAN centre meant very little to me until March this year......like a lot in life, if you or yours are not directly affected, then it's usually unimportant. The information, immediate & continued support has been so much appreciated by me & mine, that I want to shout about UCAN from the rooftops.........that's a bit risky though, so here I am - DIG DEEP please.
