Congratulations, Swallowfield! We have jointly created a memorable memorial which befits both our commumity and the Remembrance of those who have siffered and died in conflict and wars.

A very well supported Act of Remembrance at 11am on 11.11 was filmed by Meridian ITV and Remembrance Sunday was marked by our normal Act of Remembrance at the war memorial, with a great turn-out of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts as well as so many of you. This was followed by the Remembrance church service.

We dedicated the 42 poppies, one for each name on the war memorial, which will be an ongoing reminder throughout the year when we see them under the Forgotten Soldier. It will show that our war dead are not forgotten, and will also be an ongojg reminder of our very special 2021 decorated memorial.

We have been encouraged by the widespread support and hope our neighbours, friends and family will feel inspired to donate more than usual to the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes, as we all try to go the extra mile, as our armed forces personnel have so often done.
