Thank you for looking at this page. We might be 2 generations apart, but had a great time cycling together as a team in the annual SHCT sponsored Ride & Stride. Half the money we raise will help repair our beautiful Grade I listed St Mary’s, Mendlesham, which will soon need costly repairs to the nave roof; the other half goes to SHCT, which runs the event and makes grants to churches and chapels of all denominations for repair and restoration.

We visited 25 churches & chapels in the beautiful Suffolk countryside on eco-friendly bikes: powered by legs and fuelled by cake (including doughnuts!), fruit, jelly babies, chocolates, biscuits, water, fruit juice and suchlike provided by those lovely people who freely give their time to welcome visiting cyclists. They were:

Gipping, Old Newton Methodist, Old Newton church, Haughley church, Wetherden church, Harleston church, Shelland church, Woolpit church, Drinkstone church, Hessett church, Beyton church, Tostock church, Norton SA, Norton Baptist, Norton church, Hunston church, Langham church, Walsham-le-Willows church, Walsham-le-Willows Congregational, Westhorpe church, Wyverstone church, Bacton church, Cotton church and Mendlesham church. The 44 miles biked was well worth the effort, though we wouldn't have wanted to repeat it too soon afterwards. We even discovered our mugshots on the EADT and Bury Free Press, photographed outside Beyton church, which was a surprise! (At least it shows we got there :-) ) Any donation is welcome, either jointly or to us as individuals.
