Welcome back to year 3 of our little old bike ride! 

 

This year we have recruited some help to raise even more money than before. Mark and myself will be joined by Marks better half Kerrie, my old housemate Dave and his better half Vicki who did the ride before in 2008 and just to add to the confusion of names we also have my good friends Kerri and Carrie coming along for good measure! Our old school friend Mark Champ is also joining this year for his first go at the ride and we have my old boss at Vodafone Paul joining for his first go. In addition we have Nick, Mike and another Dave all joining in the fray.

 

Last year proved to be somewhat colder than the year before so hopefully this year we will see a little more sun so the new peeps can enjoy it....at least until Ditchling Beacon :)

 

This year we were a bit more proactive in booking somewhere to stay after last year where we had to cycle an extra 10 miles to the hotel after the ride which included a place named 'Devil's Dyke' which Mark had failed to tell me was rather steep..... At least this year we can relax a bit more on the other side although it does mean a slightly longer ride back the next day!

 

As I mentioned, Mark and myself will also be riding back on the Monday as we have done so the past couple of years so wouldn't want to break that tradition. Mark Champ is also braving the return journey with us so there are other crazy people out there :)

 

So on to the training and for those of you who know what happened last year.....lets hope mine is a little less painful :)

Update 11/04/11: With the sun comes the real training! Everyones been working hard to prepare with many a sunburn earned over the weekend. With just shy of 10 weeks to go the excitement it beginning to build.
