Story
Dear friends,
The volunteers from Tokyo Controllers are going to participate in Oxfam Japan TRAILWALKER 2007 on May 18 and 19. As some of you may know, Oxfam Trail Walking is the world's greatest challenge to overcome three challenges in one event, which are:
1) A satisfying physical endeavor - to complete 100kms of demanding trail across the mountains of southern Japan in less than 48 hours.
2) A fun (?) team building exercise - a team of four must start together, stick together and finish together.
3) A rewarding fundraising enterprise - a commitment to raise at least ¥120,000 per team (1,000USD) to help some of the world's poorest people.
We formed team MIST. It does not imply (hopefully) that we will be wandering lost in a deep mountain mist, but rather it comes from the initials of the team members.
Murai, Hiromi: Has completed her first full marathon last month within 5 hours!
Inahara, Curtis: Runs 5k every day and plays tennis every weekend.
Suga, Toshio: Runs 2k with his dog 3 times a week and plays a round of golf every weekend.
Tashiro, Shingo: Has run 8 full marathons and is running another this month.
We are aiming to complete the course within 30 hours without sleep, which is a reasonable target for the well trained athletes but a big challenge for one of the members (guess who!).
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. All donations are sent electronically to Oxfam. If you are a Japan taxpayer, Oxfam will issue a receipt that is eligible for a tax deduction.
We appreciate your big support in advance!
Team MIST (Toshio Suga, Curtis Inahara, Hiromi Murai, Shingo Tashiro)
