Story
Cancer really is shit. Last year it hit our family twice - our Mum, Hilary, and our cousin Edward - so two of us are heading to Scotland to raise some money to support the people who have taken care of them. Ian is taking his first steps into running and doing the 5k; Clare (who has a bit more experience and no sense of self-preservation) is taking on the marathon.
Message from Clare...
As helpless as I've felt at times in the last year, it's been a comfort to know that Mum's had access to and support from Macmillan nurses. So, while I can't do a lot of things, I can lace up my trainers and run 26 miles (one for the 26 years my Mum has been there for me) and raise some money. Thanks for visiting the page, and thank you for anything you can give.
Message from Ian:
I do not like running, and after dabbling with endurance sport in my late teens/early 20s, I decided that I actively hated doing all sports that weren't badminton. But I would do almost anything to raise money for an organisation that has actively helped my family through horrific illness. So even though a 5k run isn't much in the grand scheme or things - particularly given the distances Clare and Lucy are set to undertake - I hope you can give Team W something as we all push our physical boundaries.
