We improve education and early intervention to help children with Down syndrome

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

“Team DownsEd” includes 15 individuals who will be running the Great South Run 2009 to raise money in aid of Down Syndrome Education International (Charity Number 1062823). Our team is made up of lots of different people. Some have children or other family members with Down syndrome, some work for the charity itself, and some were kindly talked into it by others

However, every one of us has been touched by the work DownsEd do to improve education for children with Down syndrome, not only in the UK but around the world. This charity gives children with Down syndrome the best possible developmental and educational start in life, sowing the seeds for later inclusion in mainstream schools, employment and independent living in our community. Quite simply, DownsEd helps thousands of people with Down syndrome across the world to fulfil their individual potential.

So please, sponsor Team DownsEd, and help us to raise funds for the amazing work carried out by the charity. Anything you can spare really will help, so please be as generous as you can! Not only will you be giving money to a truly inspiring cause, you will also be encouraging 15 “runners” in their 10 mile challenge!

Thank you so much for your support and generosity from everyone on Team DownsEd, including:

Katherine Phillips, Matthew Teague, Pete Simm, Emily Fletcher, Stuart McIntyre, Chesney Archer, Stephen Lennon, Dan Edwards, Justin Palmer, Mandy Havill, Stacey Hunt, Julie Hughes, Becky Baxter, Oli Scoular, Paul Chivers :-)

And also from junior runners Ethan Buckley, Ryan Buckley and Adam Buckley!
