We did it !!!  After spending the last 10 days with bad colds we feared the worst but we got round.  The last couple of miles were tough,  we completed it in 2 hours 28 minutes and 19 seconds.  Both chips registered exactly the same time !  Thank you to everyone for supporting us and Baby Lifeline.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As some of you may know and others may be a little surprised to hear, we are going to complete the Coventry half marathon to raise funds for Baby Lifeline's maternity appeal.

We had our twin boys 'Noah' and 'George' 17 weeks early in March 2006. The chance of survival for either of them was less than 5% and sadly George died aged 5 days old.

Noah spent 116 days in Coventry University hospital neonatal unit fighting for his life.  He had 13 blood transfusions and overcame many medical challenges including a collapsed lung, brain haemorrage, hole in the heart and laser eye surgery to save his sight.

We are so grateful to all the wonderful staff who contributed to saving Noah's life.  Today Noah is a happy healthy 3 1/2 year old with a younger sister called 'Hope'.  Everyday we feel blessed to have 2 wonderful children, and everyday we miss George, so it is in celebration of Noah and Hope and in memory of George that we are going to complete the Coventry half marathon and raise funds for Baby Lifeline's maternity appeal.

For those of you who wish to know more about the charity :

Baby Lifeline is a charity that was born from personal tragedy in 1981 and has since raised over £8 million to provide an abundance of technology for use in maternity services, as well as for specialist training for its health care professionals.

Baby Lifeline's maternity appeal aims to provide your local maternity services with identified and life saving equipment for the care of its pregnant women and their unborn and newborn babies.

As the birth rate increases in this country to approximately 670,000 a year, we still see around 8,500 babies dying around the time of birth and during the first year of life.

Please would you support us in raising money for this appeal, which will provide the equipment requested from our maternity units, ranging from small hand held heart detectors to monitor an unborn baby's heart rate, to monitors and scanners, providing the best care in pregnancy and child birth.

However small your donation may be, please be assured that every penny given will make a huge difference to the appeal and indeed to mothers and babies.
