We provide vital, regular social contact to combat loneliness amongst older people

Story

A big thank you to 'TeamJLMK' who on Sunday 12th July pounded the sunny streets of London to raise money for Contact the Elderly.  We all completed the 10k Run despite the heat and nerves.  We each had a personal goal on the day; whether to achieve a personal best or just get round!  Some were so focused they didn't hear the cheering crowds and music, or notice the spectators and wonderful sights we ran past, others took photos on route!  We all came away with a sense of achievement and can be really proud of ourselves for smashing our target of £500.  A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored either individuals or the team.

But it's not too late to sponsor Team JLMK!  You can go via the website http://www.justgiving.com/teamjlmk or direct to individuals.

Thanks to Sarah Drinkwater, Molly Rowe, Lee Wheatcroft, Cym Baseley, Tarik Dinak, Matt May, Dominic Rose and Anna Flood.  Bad luck to Karl and Kate, we missed you and know you were there in spirit!  Particular thanks to Will Kemp for driving the minibus for us, as well as running. You're a great team and it was brilliant to be part of something so special!

(Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Contact The Elderly gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation).
