The 10th essex are a Great War Living History Group who specialise in education through their displays. We often raise money for our chosen charity Combat Stress.
As part of our hobby a number of our members have restored original period military and covilian bicycles and to raise charity we will be cycling them across the marshes of Kent on a 40 mile trip. If that sounds simple remember that they have no gears, rod-brakes and have heavy steel frames and 28" wheels. Add to that the fact that we will be riding in a mixture of wool serge uniforms and tweed cycle-attire and it's not going to be a picnic! Except for the one we have on the way, of course!
