The Queen Margaret Union is one of the two student unions at The University of Glasgow.
The QMU Charity of the Year for 2014-'15 is Sense Scotland, a charity for those affected by deafblindness. But there will also be events throught the year fundraising for other causes. (e.g. Movember, World Aids Day, Macmilllan and Breast Cancer Care).
Found in 1890, the QMU has a history of student activism, working on a number of campaigns and raising huge amounts of money for many worthy causes. This year marks 125 years of the QMU and what better way to celebrate than raising money for worthy causes through numerous fundraising activities and events. With this in mind we have set ourselves a hefty target of £12,500.
The union has a dedicated Campaigns and Charities committee that meet every week to come up with ideas for fundraising and campaigning. Emma Anderson is the Campaigns and Charities convenor for 2014-'15. You can contact her on campaigns.con@qmunion.org.uk
