In 2011 four riders cycled from Lands End to Newcastle, joined along the way by seven others for the coast to cost leg, and then joined by a further seventy for the final day from Seahouses to the Quayside. Through the sponsorship and the online auction we raised just shy of £30,000 which has been put towards the first Bright Red Outreach Nurse, who will help those in the north east who are dealing with blood cancers. Often patients of the Northern Centre of Cancer care have significant journey times, for relatively short appointments - an outreach nurse will make a huge difference to these patients. So this year, we have decided to cycle from John O'Groats down, attempting to match the £30,000 in the process, to employ the nurse for another year. We will have 11 riders doing the full 500+ miles, then will be joined in Edinburgh by a further 10, and then everyone is welcome for the final days ride. It's going to be another challenge for everyone involved so please dig deep. All donations are very greatfully received and go towards a very worthy local charity. Thanks for your time, and your support.
