We made it!
All the way from Richmond in leafy Surrey - 272 miles (why is it always further than you think?) to Wharfedale Rugby club, rolling in just before 14.30 on Saturday in time to see the boys beat Richmond. The fight goes on!!
A tough two and a half days cycling particularly into strong headwinds on Friday and through rain and hail on Saturday morning, so we have earned every penny!! Many thanks to you, our sponsors - but there is still time to help us reach our target of £6,000 which we have promised to the Air Ambulance. Don't be shy - dig deep and sponsor.
The main riding team of Robert Fort, Tim Lockett, Nick Gains, Ian Moulding, John Younger and the irrepressible Jennie Routley are indebted to Dave Townson and John Dias, back up drivers and part-time cyclists, to Alison Fort for sustenance and to Bruce White for navigation and inspiration. A tough but rewarding few days.
The tragic events on Friday reminded us all why we need that great life saving charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Wharfedale RUFC's partner charity for the season. We've done our bit, so - dig deep and sponsor us now.
