We've been travelling in South America for six months and have heard bits and bobs about the notorious Carretera Austral. The Carretera Austral is a 1200km cycle through southern Chile and Argentina, beginning in Puerto Montt and ending in El Calafate. Quite spontaneously we have decided to get on our bicycles and go for it! We have also decided that, due to the wet and very windy weather, we will cycle and camp the whole way, which should take us between six and eight weeks.
We are taking this opportunity to raise money for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and Trees for Life (see links below) and would appreciate any donations!
