This challenge was completed by everybody on 14th April 2012. Hayley Dennis, Carole, Anne and Durham all comleted the sky dive whilst Alex completed the climb of Pen-y-Ghent.
A massive thank you to everybody who has donated to these charities.
We've joined together as a family and friends to raise money for charity. Between us we have chosen three charities that we all care about.
The Stroke Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn.
Cancer Care and Treatment Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn.
The Fire Fighters Charity.
All 3 charities have helped our family.
Carole's husband, Cameron, died of cancer at the age of 32 in 2008. He left 2 children Ruby aged 3 and Finlay aged 6 months. He was Alex and Mary's son and the brother of Hayley. At the time he was a serving PCSO and retained firefighter in King's Lynn. Cam was looked after and treated by the friendly supportive staff at the Cancer Care and Treatment Centre at the QE
Alex, a retired firefighter, had a heart attack and cardiac arrest in March 2011 followed by 2 strokes, but thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the stroke Unit team and his own determination he is making a remarkable recovery.
Both Alex and Cameron have received tremendous help and support from the Firefighters Charity having each been to one of their therapy centres where they received intensive therapy. This was an extremely professional service funded entirely by the charity itself.
In 2005 Anne's mum died of breast cancer, she worked at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was treated and encouraged by the staff there. In 2010 Anne's dad Durham Foreman suffered a stroke and received fantastic care in the stroke unit and has since made a full recovery.
We would like to give something back by raisng money so that other people can benefit from these charities.
Due to revised wording on the company certificate Alex doctor can no longer sign the certificate for him to do the jump. So as not to disappoint his sponsors he is going to climb Pen-y-Ghent instead. Pen-y-Ghent is one of the 3 peaks of Yorkshire and stands at just over 2200ft.
