Dear Friends, We are again taking part in the Oxfam TRAILWALKER Japan 2008 from 16 May to 18 May. Oxfam TRAILWALKER is the world's greatest team challenge! It is also one of the toughest. The challenge is to complete 100kms of a demanding trail across the mountains of southern in 48 hours as a team of four. Teams must start together, stick together and finish together. And it is not just physically demanding, Oxfam TRAILWALKER is also a fundraising challenge. At least 80% of the money raised through Oxfam Japan Trailwalker 2008 will be used to support Oxfam's program around the world. A maximum of 20% will be allocated to cover the administration and management costs of the event. The ratio may differ depending on the total amount raised by Trailwalkers and through corporate sponsorship, but they will ensure that the administration costs will not exceed 20%. - Due to poverty one child dies every 3 seconds.

本年も、オックスファム・トレイルウォーカー・ジャパン2008Jに参加することとなりました。
昨年のトレイルでは、皆様からたくさんの温かいご支援を賜り、心より感謝申し上げます。お陰さまで４人無事一緒に１００ｋｍをゴールすることができました。
今年もまた、４人一緒に完歩をめざします。どうぞ応援宜しくお願いします。
オックスファム・トレイルウォーカーは、世界でもすばらしいチームイベントです。そして、同時に最もタフなイベントです。この挑戦は、四人のチームで、小田原から山中湖までの１００ｋｍを４８時間以内に歩ききるもので、四人は同時に出発し、共に行動し、一緒にゴールしなければなりません。
私たちは１００ｋｍ歩くことにより、寄付金がたまり、長期開発支援、緊急人道支援などのプロジェクト、および日本国内でのアドボカシー活動のお手伝いが出来ればと思い、頑張ります。 このサイトを通して支払われた募金は安全に確実に、直接オックスファムに振り込まれます。
募金の80%以上が貧困から立ち上がる人々の支援に寄付されます。
・3秒にひとり、極度の貧困により、子どもの命が失われています。
・毎年300万人以上が安全な水が飲めないことが原因で命を失っています。
・オックスファムは世界100ヶ国以上で活動する国際協力団体です。1942年、英国オックスフォードで生まれました。今までノーベル平和賞に3回ノミネートされています。
・貧困を克服しようとする人々を支援し、貧困を生み出す状況を変えるために活動しています。現地のパートナー団体と共に活動するのもオックスファムの特徴の1つです。
・スマトラ島沖地震・津波災害の際には、70万人の人々にきれいな水を提供しました。
