Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
In April 2005 I lost my 28 year old husband Paul extremely suddenly. He was fit and healthy yet collapsed and died 20 minutes into a football match, a game he played semi-professionally. It was a completely devastating time for all of us especially his family and friends and it was heartbreaking that his son Thomas, who was only 9 months old at the time would never personally know his dad.
At the time I had no idea where to turn but was hugely supported by the excellent charity CRY. They not only introduced me to others who had suffered similar ordeals but also helped me fight for a diagnosis and consequently I now know that he died of a heart condition known as ARVC (Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy). Our son could also carry the same condition and is now regularly tested at Great Ormund Street Hospital thanks to CRY.
They have, and continue to, support us as a family and also his friends and as a result several of us including me, his mum, aunties, cousins, his sister and brother in law and friends will be taking part in the CRY Heart of London Bridges Walk in order to not only raise some money but also to raise awareness of CRY and it's fantastic work.
Please sponsor us and help us all to give something back.
