"Team Touchy", aka Dan Vito and Steve-O, are about to embark on their greatest adventure yet... driving from England to Mongolia in a crapbox - with a Telstra Touchfone 400 strapped to the bonnet. What are they thinking?

For those who do not know what's going on, we've signed up to take part in the 2007 Mongol Rally. It's a charity car race... of sorts. The basic premise is you drive from London, England, to Ulaanbaatar, the captial of Mongolia - a distance of about 9,000 miles covering around 12 countries over around four weeks - raising money for charity. Simple? Not quite. There's a catch - the car has to have less than a 1000cc engine and must be at least 10 years old. Basically, this means it has to be generally considered to be "crap". Add to this two mountain ranges, two deserts, a pile of border crossings, armed bandits,  roads that just disappear... we've got our work cut out for us!

We have chosen two charities and plan to raise £1000 (AU$2500) for each of them. This page is for donations to Mercy Corps Mongolia, who support rural communities to meet their economic and social needs, helping individuals, families and communities to become more self-sufficient, diversified in their production, and better linked to local, regional and national markets. Over the past five years Mercy Corps Mongolia has established a strong reputation across the vast Gobi region, and continues to work with business associations and local organizations to ensure a robust economy that preserves ancient traditions.
