"Team Touchy", aka Dan Vito and Steve-O, are about to embark on their greatest adventure yet... driving from England to Mongolia in a crapbox - with a Telstra Touchfone 400 strapped to the bonnet. What are they thinking?

For those who do not know what's going on, we've signed up to take part in the 2007 Mongol Rally. It's a charity car race... of sorts. The basic premise is you drive from London, England, to Ulaanbaatar, the captial of Mongolia - a distance of about 9,000 miles covering around 12 countries over around four weeks - raising money for charity. Simple? Not quite. There's a catch - the car has to have less than a 1000cc engine and must be at least 10 years old. Basically, this means it has to be generally considered to be "crap". Add to this two mountain ranges, two deserts, a pile of border crossings, armed bandits,  roads that just disappear... we've got our work cut out for us!

We have chosen two charities and plan to raise £1000 (AU$2500) for each of them. This page is for donations to Hope and Homes for Children. In just 12 years Hope and Homes for Children has helped to secure the lives and future livelihoods of more than 15,000 orphaned or abandoned children throughout Eastern and Central Europe and Africa. Funds raised for Hope and Homes for Children will be donated to their projects in Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova/Transdnistria which focus on closing down the state institutions and removing children from the terrible conditions in these centres. The children are reunited with siblings, and where possible placed with their biological families. Other children are relocated to small family homes, which provide them with a loving, stimulating environment enabling them to reach their full potential.
