Story
WHERE THERE IS RAIN, WE HOPE TO BRING SUNSHINE TO CREATE A MORE COLOURFUL AND BRIGHTER LIFE TO THOSE IN NEED.
Many LGBTI people from around the world come to the UK to escape persecution and violence. They may have suffered abuse, become homeless or rejected by their ethnic communities because of their sexuality, gender identity, gender expression or intersex status. In many of their home countries, LGBTI people can face imprisonment or the death penalty just because of who they are and who they love.
TO COMBAT THIS PROBLEM OUR TEAM WILL BE FUNDRAISING FOR MICRO RAINBOW.
Micro Rainbow operate seven safe houses, four in the London area and three in Birmingham and the West Midlands which provide 11,680 bed-nights a year, giving LGBTI asylum seekers safe shelter, bedding, food and clothing whilst they go through the gruelling legal asylum process. They also help facilitate access to employment, volunteering, training and education.
HELP US PUT A POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF THIS RAINBOW!
Between 14th September and 18th October 2019, each member of an international team will complete an individual 10km walk/run. From Cairo to Dublin, London to Leeds, we will pass a rainbow baton on to each other, driving to complete a combined total of 120km and raising funds to contribute to Micro Rainbow’s safe housing project in the UK.
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THE LIGHT!
Please support us by donating whatever you can. We truly appreciate your help.
