More than 280,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK. At Cancer Research UK, one of the aims is to work out exactly how cells grow, divide and survive. Eventually, we will understand how all cancers form and how they grow out of control, leading to improved cancer treatments and better patient care.

I decided to organise Team Up Against Cancer as I had the opportunity to put together an event for Cancer Research UK as part of my flexi placement on the NHS Management Training Scheme. I wanted to arrange an event that would raise money for CR-UK, and be beneficial, exciting and challenging for those that took part. I also wanted an event that could include education and the preventative measures against cancer, promoting ways to keep fit and healthy. I love all kinds of sport, especially fitness classes, and felt this could be a great way to try out and learn about different sports and fitness and how enjoyable and beneficial they can be!

Teams will be taking part in 12 hours of fitness classes, along with mental and physical challenges to raise money to go towards the research that CR-UK does. Please dig deep and sponsor Team Up Against Cancer, Cancer Research UK needs your help and support to continue.
