Hi,Thanks for taking the time to visit our  "Team Velvet" JustGiving page.

"Team Velvet" (Tracey, Vicky, Simone, Donna,Dawn and Janet and of course Lottie and Velvet) have undertaken lots of fundraising activities during the last few months; at car boot sales and at supermarkets attempting a bit of bag packing and trying not to break anything!

 We've done lots and lots of running ! both in training and races. The whole team completed the Great North Run on 18/09, Dawn, Donna and Tracey completed  the Loch Ness Marathon on 2/10/11.  Then Donna and Tracey jetted off to Florence to complete the marathon there.

We are now training hard (even in the ice and snow) for London. We have a new member JANET TOLLEY  and will be completing (yes completing Janet!) the London Marathon with Donna and Tracey. Lottie very nearly entered as a wheelchair athlete but is not quite old enough- watch this space though !!

We are raising money for Dogs for the Disabled who are a non goverment funded charity who create partnerships between people living with disability and specially trained assistance dogs.

Lottie aged 10 and Velvet (2) is one such new partnership.....

Lottie has Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus and is an active wheelchair user. She is a happy, wonderfully motivated, beautiful girl who always gives 100% (slight bias here!!) However, life presents Lottie with many challenges often causing her to feel upset and frustrated.

Velvet is helping to bridge that gap......

Lottie and Velvet are now are a qualified partnership and have become firm friends! Velvet helps Lottie in amazing ways for example if Lottie drops an object Velvet retrieves it, she helps Lottie get dressed and undressed, can open doors for her, turn on lights and has become an invaluable asset

All money raised will go directly to Dogs for the Disabled to help fund more life changing partnerships.
