Story
On July 19th and 20th Control, Manager, Analyst and Noro (aka Team Villars) will be walking the Oxfam 100 km trail along the South Downs Way from Petersfield to Brighton. This is an annual event organised by Oxfam and the Gurkhas which requires all four team members to cover the course in under 30 hours. (See www.oxfam.org.uk).
We are not quite sure why we are doing this to ourselves. We got instructions from Control and here we are. However, we have decided to raise money for a worthy cause while we are at it.
Oxfam as most of you will know is a major charity dedicated to alleviating poverty. While we may be dealing with the many consequences of the "credit crunch", there are today over a billion people in the World who are living on less than $1 a day. For these people the recent dramatic increase in basic food prices is quite literally a matter of life and death. There has never been a more opportune time to give to this cause.
So please dig deep and sponsor us online today. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Oxfam will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
