Story
Hi all,
As you might be aware Hannah, Therese and Jeremy will run the New Forest Marathon on 16 September.
We will do the marathon in support of all the work World Emergency Relief (WER) is doing to help and support disadvantaged children and their communities across the world. However, we all feel strongly for some projects in particular and we will dedicate our runs to these projects.
Hannah, the Half Iron Lady, will dedicate her sub four hour run to our project in Ethiopia where WER provided funding to our local partner Kale Heywet Church to build a Montessori Kindergarten School in Basketo, a remote highland community. The kindergarten is now providing education for 140 children in the area. You can read more about this project by following this link: http://www.wer-uk.org/site/pages/ui_country.asp?itemID=10
Therese will dedicate her run to the Sports and Community programme that WER is developing together with our local partner Monte Christo Ministries in Paarl East, South Africa. Paarl East is a region with widespread poverty, violence, drugs and gang culture problems. This project will allow youth to develop their talents within a safe and stimulating facility. Jeremy, who is determined to run sub four hours and has shown great dedication in his training, will complete the race in support for WER's projects in Uganda and Southern Sudan. WER work in close partnership with our local partner ANCC and we are developing, among other projects, food security and water drilling programmes in northern Uganda and in remote areas of Southern Sudan. It will be a gruelling 26 mile run so please support us and make it all worthwhile, all contributions are highly appreciated!
Thanks for you interest and hopefully your support.
Best wishes,
Hannah, Therese and Jeremy
