St Neots Half Marathon · 15 November 2009

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page.

We, members of staff and staff family are running the St Neots Half Marathon (13 miles!) to raise important funds for the NACC who have greatly supported Liz's daughter over many years of her suffering from Ulcerative Colitis (UC).

Last year Liz's daughter finally had to have major surgery to remove her bowel but thankfully is now fit and healthy. During the ten years her daughter suffered from UC the NACC offered much support to the family by providing information about the illness, how to deal with symptoms, what the different treatments and surgeries are, how to cope with working with the disease and emotional support through the helpline.  This support made living with a painful, debilitating and often embarassing illness much easier.

Liz came into school and managed to convince the rest of us to take up this challenge and considering many of us have never run such a distance it is indeed an enormous challenge. However, we're committed, training hard and definitely up for it!

We really hope you can dig deep and support this important cause as well as offer us some much needed encouragement!

Thank you so much for your support.
