Our daughter Teya-Mei has been growing her hair for most of her life and has now decided that she would like to have it cut so that it can help another child.

She will be having approximately 15 inches cut off (the minimum required is 10 inches) and is collecting sponsors to raise money for this charity (website: www.littleprincesses.org.uk).

She will also be sending the hair to the charity so that it can be used to make a wig.

'Little Princess Trust' provides real hair wigs to children suffering hair loss, mainly due to cancer treatment.

It takes around 12oz of hair to make a wig for a child (about 10 average sized ponytails) and costs approximately £300 to make each one.

Any sponsorship money raised over the £300 mark will be donated to 'Cancer Research UK'

The sponsored hair cut will be taking place at 'Toni and Guy' hair salon in Hemel Hempstead town centre on Saturday 30th October 2010 at 10.30am
