Story
I am unfit, and I am lazy. I hate sweat and getting muddy. I've got no upper-arm strength.
What an opening. BUT those are the reasons I'm doing the Pretty Muddy 5k. You see, I think, if someone can go through the horrors of chemo, or radiotherapy, to fight off cancer, then I can put myself through an hour of my least favourite things to raise money to support that.
If scientists can work long, thankless, tiring hours in a research lab, trying to figure out the secrets to preventing and curing cancer, then I can run in the mud and climb some obstacles to raise some money to support that cancer research.
Every year, a new person, a younger person than the year before, tells me they've got cancer. That they're undergoing treatment for something. We don't seem any closer to stopping this disease in its tracks. So it's about time I did my bit to help out.
Please sponsor me, to do this. I want to raise a good sum of money, and I promise to run, get muddy and haul myself over some obstacles. And share the photos afterwards!
