About the charity
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My sister recenntly started working with the KCH Limb Reconstruction trust and I am abolutely inspired by the work she does in helping people back to a life of normality having had treatments for injured or deformed limbs. Successful limb reconstruction surgery really can feel like a ‘miracle’ cure but it is not an easy choice. And people going through limb reconstruction surgery often have severe emotional, physical, financial and practical problems. This charity helps them through that.
Being positively mobile in comparison I am to take on a challenge that will test me, but compared to the challenges these patients face every day it pales into insignificance. I'm hoping that by raising a bit of money we can help with this important work.
About the challenge
My 5k challenge is quite simple... although it should probably be called a 50k challenge! I am going to travel five km, in ten ways. By walking, running, cycling, swimming, wakeboarding, sailing, snowboarding, horse-riding, roller-skating and go-karting to be precise. I reserve the right to change sports as/when it proves impractible, but we will find 50k's worth by my birthday (11 Jan 2010)! The challenge starts NOW, and you can find out how I'm doing here in my updates.
