Just to update you all that WE DID IT !!!

It all went perfectly to plan (there was the odd little detour, the map was wrong honest!!) but largely we stuck to our schedule and after 151 miles and 2 and a half days we cycled into Tynemouth to a wonderful reception of waiting boyfriends, children and husbands with champagne and fish and chips!

We had a brilliant time on route , there were a lot of challenging climbs and it was so windy at some stages we were cycling downhill from the highest point .  We met and had our photo taken with the Hairy Bikers, and shared the route with lots of lovely fellow cyclists. The sun shone for us most of the time and our bikes and bums lasted the pace! 

So well done Adrenaline Babes ! Can't wait to get on the bike again (well maybe next week.. or the week after......)

Finally thank you all so much for sponsoring us you have all been so generous, it was an enormous help knowing that you were all behind us (pity the wind hadn't been so kind!). Thanks again we are so grateful, and thank you on behalf of Breakthrough Breast Cancer we have raised an enormous amount which we are sure will help in the fight against Breast Cancer.

.After months of gruelling training we, The Adrenaline Babes (aka Lucy, Sue, Trudy, Fiona and Lindzi) are donning our cycling gear and cycling the Whitehaven to Tynemouth Sea to Sea (C2C)!  Starting Friday the 18th of June crossing the country for 147 miles - eventually rolling into Tynemouth on Sunday the 20th. The route will take us from West Cumbria, through the challenging peaks of the Lake District, onto Eden Valley, up and down the Northern Pennines, through the Durham Dales and ending in Tynemouth. 

We have chosen to raise money from the cycle for a very worthy charity- Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Any donations no matter how small or big are greatly appreciated - it all adds up in the end!  

We have been kindly sponsored by Adrenaline Bikes, Glasgow who will have a link from their website www.adrenaline-bikes.com and on their Facebook page for updates of our progression and photographs of the trip as we do it.
