This summer, Freddie Athill, Alex Kinloch, Phil Lis and George Stancliffe are going cycling crazy as they embark on a 4,000 mile challenge to cycle across . The trip will take us across 10 states; from in the West to in the East. Weather, bums and equipment permitting, the challenge should be completed in two months as we take on a route used for training by the great Lance Armstrong himself!

Much thought went into deciding which charity to raise money for and the team rallied behind the “The Sick Children’s Trust”. This charity aims to provide high quality 'Home from Home' accommodation for families to be near their children while they receive hospital treatment for serious illness. We were drawn to the charity because they operate a tried, tested and proven formula, and help over 4000 families every year. Most importantly, you know exactly where your donations are going. The training for the trip has already begun. This has been both physically and psychologically testing – it has included Sunday afternoon strolls, yoga, pilates, bowling and the ritual weekly humiliation of “spinning classes” with the impressive Oxford University female athletics team. We are also planning a trial run in a tent just before we leave; it will be a completely novel experience for certain members of the team.
