We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

We have completed our climb of Ben Nevis, the UK's largest mountain. We ascended via the CMD (Carn Mor Dearg) on the north ridge so not the easy route up the pony trail!

We were both absolutely exhausted after the climb as you can imagine. I must admit that when I planned this route I underestimated this climb and how hard it would be. I anticipated we would be walking for around 7-8 hours. In total we were walking for 11 hours, of which 7 hours 20 minutes of that was just getting to the top!

For both of us it was the most gruelling challenge we have ever faced. Annmarie said she would take child birth over that any day!! What kept us going was not only challenge of succeeding but also the cause, the reason why we were there and that was to try and do our bit for cancer research.

We would just like to say a huge thank you for all who have donated however for those who haven't even though we have completed the climb you can donate until September 21st 2007 so please dig deep for this cause.

(The serious bit) So many lives are affected by cancer including friends and family of our own. So we are hoping to raise funds to help combat this disease which is why we are asking for your donations to sponsor our climb.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
