My story

On April 16th 2010, I will embark upon a brutal solo slog through the mountains and deserts of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, the longest in the world and scorching hot to boot.

My endurance challenge will cover well over 1000 miles from luxurious resort town Cabo San Lucas to the infamous busiest border town on the planet, Tijuana. It is an incredibly ambitious challenge and extremely dangerous too. We are ill-equipped, under-resourced and regularly told how mad we are.

I'm not Bob Geldof and I am not an athlete by any stretch of the imagination.

I am just a normal bloke with fire in my belly and a keen sense of justice for kids.. That's all.. But with a website and some good mates helping out, that's all we need to make a massive difference to a lot of lives that deserve a fair chance at the basics. Health, Education and Sport..

Please check my website for more information - http://www.theirshoes.org

THIS IS AN INDEPENDENTLY FUNDED PROJECT.

IT IS NOT BANKROLLED BY GOSH OR BY THE GOOD FOLK THAT SPONSOR THEIR HARD EARNED CASH.

EVERY PENNY OF EVERY DONATION GOES DIRECTLY TO CHARITY.

THE MONEY RAISED WILL BE DIVIDED BETWEEN GOSH AND MEXICAN CHILDREN'S CHARITIES.

For the last year I have been volunteering as a Football coach for under-privileged Mexican kids in Baja California, and by doing so, I have been exposed to the heart-wrenching needs of children and their families in poverty.

Please help me to help them to help themselves by donating to GOSH, who will then pass on a 50% share of the funds to registered children's charities in Mexico.

We also hope that GOSH will lend their experience and knowledge to the guys doing their very best over here with limited equipment and resources.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to drop me a mail - info@theirshoes.org
