Story
Updated May 24th 2010
Well yesterday was the big day! 25C, a twisted ankle at 8 miles, lots of tears, loads of Lucozade and 6 hours and 3 minutes later, we finished the Edinburgh Marathon followed by the First Aid Tent! Dad had to go and fetch my medal for me whilst my blisters were being bandaged up! Urgh!
But even with all the hobbling, hot weather and never ending route, yesterdays emotional rollercoaster was definately worth it. Thanks to all your support and generous donations we have raised almost £3000 with donations still coming in, which will help change loads of lives through Sense Scotland.

Thank you so much for all the donations. We have exceeded the target by miles so we have decided to change it in order to raise £100 for every mile. Less than two weeks to go!

I suffer from Ushers Syndrome, Type 2, which is a form of RP. Basically, I have no peripheral vision, I have night blindness and suffer from hearing impairment and I wanted to do my bit for Sense Scotland.

Sense Scotland are a charity who help children who are totally blind and deaf as well as having many other sensory conditions.
I have always loved running, which has become harder to do as my sight has deteriorated. Last year I ran the Baker Hughes 10K with the help of my Dad... had a momment and decided that I would like to run a marathon before I turn 21!!
It just so happened the Edinburgh Marathon is 5 days before my birthday and would be the perfect target to aim for!
My Dad, Tony, has ran many marathons and has been training me since last summer.
After lots of snow, a duff knee and a bit of physio, it was time to do the Inverness Half Marathon in March 2010. With the help of a couple of gel bars and my Dads encouragement, I finished the race in 2 hours, 11 mins and 58 secs!
The Edinburgh Marathon 2010 is approaching fast and My Dad and I would greatly appreciate any donations. It is for a great cause which helps so many children and people in Scotland and all over the UK.
