Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

WE DID IT :) !!!!!

There was ALOT of blood, sweat and tears but we did it, and we are all still here to tell the tell.

We did Ben Nevis in Under 5 hours Scafell Pike in Under 4 and Snowdon in 4 hours.

I think I can say from all the Peakettes it was one of the hardest thing we have ever done but we enjoyed every moment of it.

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that has sponsored and supported us through this.

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Liam and Abigail North for setting up our web page and our leaflets and to our two lovely drivers Damon Brown and Jon Smith we couldnt have done it with out you.

Keep watching this space the Peakettes will be back :) xx

On a night out with a couple of the girls we got chatting about what we would like to achieve in the new year both professionally and personally; promotion, new job, weight loss, the normal things. But there was one thing we all said that we all would like to do and that was The 3 Peaks Challenge: Climb 3 mountains Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all in 24 hours.

We wrote it down in the book with all the rest of the stuff and we didn’t think much more of it.

Then a few weeks later we started talking about it again and mentioned it to a few of our girl friends and some of them were interested in doing it. So we started looking into it to see how much it would cost us to do it as part of an organised 3 peaks event, but it was looking like it was going to cost us a small fortune.  That was when we decided to organise it ourselves, which included planning the routes we were going to walk, training programmes , hire of a minibus,  2 volunteer  drivers (which we got thanks to Damon Brown and Jon Smith our two lovely boyfriends) and all the rest of the stuff  we had to do,  but we did it.

It would have been easier to do it with an organisation but we wanted all our sponsorship money to go to our charity. They are lots of charities out there to pick from and they all could do with people raising money for them.

Debbie, one of our fellow Peakettes, is the Activities Co-ordinator at a home in Basingstoke for people with dementia including Alzheimer’s disease. Debbie has worked there for many years and is very passionate about her job and the people that live at the home. Some of us have had the chance to go and help Debbie with some of the activities she organises and it is a lovely place.

So because of this, and of course some of us have known someone that has or is going through this, we have chosen to raise money for the Alzheimer’s society.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks
