Well here I am.

I've taken up running, and now I've committed to entering more than one of those "major" races you see on TV and always say "I'd like to do that someday".

Well here I am.

.   Great South Run (10 miles), Portsmouth, 30/10/2011 (UPDATE: completed in 1hr, 56 mins - and survived!)

.   City Of Norwich Half Marathon (13.1 miles), 27/11/2011 (UPDATE: completed in 2hrs 34 mins, survived, and have now entered more races before Edinburgh....)

.   Tarpley (10 Miles), Bury St Edmunds, 26/2/2012.

.   Colchester Half Marathon (13.1 miles), 11/3/2012.

.   Reading Half Marathon (13.1 miles), 1/4/2012.

.   Sudbury Fun Run (5 miles), 6/4/2012.

.   Edinburgh Marathon (26.2 miles), 27/5/2012.

I decided to raise money for one of the many worthy causes when I do these runs, but which one? We all have reasons to raise money for most of them, but I chose the Alzheimer's Society for a very selfish reason. More than one of my family has had their life stolen by this disease - and I mean STOLEN. I must be a high risk to have my life stolen too.

So give some money. Help those people who have already lost everything - and help stop it happening to others. You may not be at a high risk, but it could still affect you or someone you love. There are 750,000 people in the UK with Dementia. 16,000 of them are under 65.

Think about it.
