Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page. This Jan, I am taking on Dryathlon and raising cash for Cancer Research UK. I'll be ditching the drink for one whole month to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Please dig deep and donate now.
To hear the word cancer is the worst thing in the world. Earlier this year, my Mum received a letter asking her to go for a routine mammogram. It was the first one she ever had - the results diagnosed her with the earliest form of breast cancer. It was a huge shock for all of us. There had been no symptons, no warnings.. nothing. But it had been there the whole time, developing and at risk of spreading to a more dangerous risk.
The diagnosis turned our world upside down. My Mum has always bee my rock, my world. To watch her having to go through something like this has been hard, but thankfully she has been one of the lucky ones. Thanks to the research and equipment that charities like Cancer Research UK provide, my Mum's cancer was caught in time. Nurses have said if it had been left longer, it could have been a much more serious outcome.
Mum has since had an operation and is set to start radiotherapy. The hospital are confident she will make a full recovery, cancer free. I owe my Mum's life to the hard work and dedication that this charity have put into research and now it's time for me to give something back. So please, no matter how big or small, please sponsor us. Every penny makes a difference.
Together, we can help beat cancer.
